In an interview with BBC Radio, Yates said, "Everybody has to take responsibility. I think it would be unfair to pin it on anybody." He encouraged the team to reflect on their performance and work together to improve.
Following the loss, Forest slipped into the relegation zone, sitting 18th with five points after eight games. The team has not won a game since their season opener and is looking for a third manager to take charge this season.
Yates acknowledged the team's role in Postecoglou's dismissal, saying, "Partly we are to blame (for Postecoglou's sacking) because we are the guys going out on the pitch and trying to get results." He expressed optimism that a good result in their upcoming game against Porto in the Europa League could help the team regain their confidence.
The club is reportedly considering several candidates to replace Postecoglou, including former Burnley and Everton boss Sean Dyche and Roberto Mancini, who guided Manchester City to their first Premier League title.
