According to sources, Chelsea is facing competition from Manchester United for Delap's signature, but the Blues are confident that they can secure the signing this summer.

Delap has expressed interest in working with Chelsea manager Enzo Maresca, who he has previously worked with at Manchester City's academy.

Chelsea's recruitment team, led by Joe Shields, also played a role in signing Delap from Derby County as a teenager.

Delap has had a successful season, scoring 12 goals and providing two assists in 38 appearances across all competitions.
